What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Planner position at STV Group?
We currently have an opening for a Junior Planner for our Transportation division. The position will be based in our Owings Mills, MD office"
This role emphasizes design, production, and delivery, with the ability to develop both professionally and personally. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a solid technical foundation allowing them to work independently. What You will do:
- Serve as a Transportation Planner, Land Use Planner, and/or Environmental Planner on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Assist in the preparation of portions of feasibility studies, alternatives analyses, NEPA documents, transportation plans, and comprehensive plans.
- Responsibilities would include- limited field work, research, GIS analysis, developing graphics, presentations, technical writing, and preparing portions of various planning and NEPA documents.
- The position would require coordination with technical sub consultants. Additional responsibilities would include proposal writing for future pursuits.
- Assists in the preparation, participation, and record’s management of project meetings as well as public information meetings and hearings.
- The position would also require interfacing with senior management, client representatives, engineers, architects, planners, public agencies, construction contractors, stakeholders, and members of the public.
What You Need/Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Public Policy, Geography, Urban Planning, Architecture, Transportation Planning, or related fields
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ArcGIS required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 2 years of experience, minimum
- Master’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Public Policy, Geography, Urban Planning, Architecture, Transportation Planning, or related fields are preferred
- Preparation of transportation and land use plans and NEPA environmental technical reports and documents
- Experience working on transit and transportation projects
- Experience with technical writing for proposals
- AICP, LEED AP, LEED GA, and/or ENV SP
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite
- Transit Asset Management
Compensation Range:
$42,820.00 - $57,094.00
