What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Planning Project Manager position at STV Group?
STV is seeking a Transportation Planning Project Manager in our Transportation Group in the Owings Mills, MD office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects and pursuits, contributing technically to multimodal planning efforts, including bus and rail planning, and will support in project controls and coordination, client interface, and QAQC.
The Senior Planner is responsible for:
- Assisting senior staff in managing planning and engineering projects that rely on multi-disciplinary technical teams.
- Leading planning tasks, establishing and tracking project scope, schedule, budget, and QAQC of project deliverables.
- Leading project pursuits that provide the best opportunity for selection by client in such role.
- Expand market share with STV’s existing and future clients through targeted client interaction and marketing, and oversight of ongoing work activities.
- Lead client mapping and management, market new clients, and pursue potential opportunities in coordination with STV’s Maryland priorities.
- Serve in a meaningful technical role on current transit and transportation planning projects, to support the Mid-Atlantic Planning department.
- Help grow a high performing Maryland Planning Department to expand and maximize employee engagement, morale, innovation, technical and financial performance through instilling accountability, communication, ethics, teamwork, and a performance-rewarding office culture.
Required Experience:
- Direct experience successfully delivering transportation and transit planning studies, such as feasibility studies and alternatives analyses.
- A minimum of 10 years of related work experience
- Master’s degree in planning or engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency with MSOffice Suite / ARC GIS / Adobe Creative Suite required.
- Experience with 3D modeling software preferred.
- Ability to manage staff and client relationships.
- Experience serving federal, state, and local transportation agency clients.
- AICP or PE professional certification is required.
Compensation Range:
$106,908.24 - $142,544.33
