What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil/Roadway Engineer position at STV?
STV has an immediate need in either our Franklin or Chattanooga , TN offices for a Civil / Roadway Engineer in our Transportation division. The successful candidate will :
- Provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects
- Support interdisciplinary projects, document preparation and production, assisting sub-consultants, monitoring budgets, schedules and quality
- Design roadway alignments and details, grading, drainage, traffic and other highway infrastructure and site work
- Develop design plans including storm drains, culverts, storm water management, and erosion and sediment control.
- Interacting with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams
- Design using Open Roads Designer
- Coordinate design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff
- Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
- Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and project managers
- Mentor supporting design staff
The ideal candidate is an individual who is a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and possesses a vast understanding of transportation / roadway principles.
