STV’s southern New England team is looking for an experienced and motivated Construction Field Engineer to join our highly skilled Team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background on rail and transit infrastructure construction projects. The candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with our design teams to develop rail projects and oversee their construction. You will be joining a local team with a strong presence in our national practice of talented rail professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage rail projects from preconstruction through construction and commissioning
  • Develop project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Expected to perform project field visits regularly or work at project field offices as needed.
  • Review and evaluate submittals related to design, RFIs, inspection reports, payment applications and be responsible for contract compliance on behalf of our clients
  • Oversee Quality Management on behalf of the client, managing the designer, construction management, and general contractor.
  • Coordinate Railroad force account work for scheduling and coordination with the general contractor’s work.
  • Reviews change orders, supplemental agreements, memorandum agreements and extra work orders, reviews monthly, and final estimates prior to submittal.
  • Reviews Contractor project schedules and reports project progress.
  • Proactively collaborate with various teams including client PMs, designers, contractors, and public stakeholders to successfully deliver projects


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in the design and/or construction of infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of rail construction practices and working knowledge of track, traction power, communications, signaling, and structural systems a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with desire to work closely with clients, contractors and other stakeholders
  • A strong desire to work on large multi-disciplinary rail projects with fast paced schedules which require creative thinking and innovative problem-solving skills


Compensation Range

$73,650.00 - $98,200.00

Please note that the final salary offered for this position may be outside of this published range based on many factors, including but not limited to geography, education, experience, and/or certifications.
