What are the responsibilities and job description for the NY Metro Architecture Discipline Leader position at STV?
STV is seeking an experienced NY Metro Architectural Discipline Leader to be based in our NYC office. This leadership position will ensure the highest standards of design and technical excellence for our Buildings Group.
Joining STV’s National Buildings Group, you will work closely with our national market sector leaders, area managers, and other discipline leads to deliver comprehensive architecture, engineering, planning, and design services. Our market sectors span across aviation, corporate and commercial, education, healthcare, civic / justice facilities, and transportation hubs and stations.
As the NYC Architectural Practice Lead, you will have the opportunity to design and develop state-of-the-art airport facilities, create innovative and sustainable office spaces, develop cutting-edge educational facilities, design healthcare environments that promote healing, build civic and justice facilities that serve communities, and design efficient transportation hubs that enhance connectivity.
What you’ll be contributing to in this role :
Accountable to the Area Manager for the performance and growth of the Architecture Group.
Direct reports include 5 Studio Leaders and 1 Project Delivery Lead with 100 architectural staff.
Collaborate with the Area Manager and Market Sector Leaders for business development, outreach, planning, and execution.
Provide architectural leadership on proposals to guide positioning, strategy, resourcing, commercial, and delivery approach, ensuring appropriate discipline staff cost is provided along with identification of risk items and clarifications.
Elevate STV and the discipline through participation in technical organizations, presentations, and publications.
Build strong relationships with clients, teaming partners, and stakeholders focusing on business growth.
Foster a culture of design and technical excellence by establishing and encouraging a collaborative environment for all project teams.
Supervise, mentor, recruit, motivate, and promote staff in all stages of their architectural careers (100 / - staff).
Collaborate with the MEP / S engineering discipline leads in New York and with the other architectural leads around the country for project demand, work-sharing, professional license coverage, and staffing needs.
Provide guidance and direction on proposals, presentations, and deliverables to achieve a high standard of graphic and technical quality.
Manage the overall group workload by supporting Studio Leads in forming project teams and making staff assignments.
Work with (5) Studio Leads to define scope from initial project information and oversee preparation of associated fee proposals, schedules, work plans, and additional service requests.
Capacity to certify & stamp architectural drawings.
What you’ll need to succeed in this role :
Licensed Architect in NYS.
20 years of experience.
Proven track record as a practicing architect with operational expertise responsible for studio leadership and delivery of diverse project typologies for multiple regional public agencies.
Proven experience in multiple delivery methods such as design-build, P3, and other alternate delivery methods.
Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills.
Active in professional organizations.

Compensation Range :
175,410.26 - $233,880.34
