Summary
As a Collection Agent at STYMCO Medical LLC, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely collections from patients and insurance companies. This role is vital in supporting our mission to enhance the financial health of our clients while maintaining excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Initiate contact with patients and insurance companies to collect outstanding balances.
- Utilize ICD-10 codes and medical terminology to facilitate accurate communication regarding claims.
- Maintain detailed records of all collection activities and communications.
- Analyze accounts receivable reports to identify delinquent accounts and prioritize follow-up actions.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with patients while adhering to company policies.
- Collaborate with the billing department to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate invoicing.
- Educate clients on financial concepts related to their accounts and payment options.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices in medical collections.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical collections or a similar role within the healthcare industry.
- Communicate directly with patients regarding their financial responsibility from services at STYMCO Medical.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations, DRG classifications, and coding guidelines
- Working with the patient to determine a repayment plan.
- Knowledge of accounting software is a plus but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining professionalism.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Utilize medical billing software systems to input data accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and submit invoices to patients and insurance companies as required.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing issues or discrepancies.
- Certification in Medical Coding or Billing is preferred but no required.
