At Suat Merdan, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President to lead our investment performance team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the consistent review of performance results at various levels: securities, segments, and total portfolios on a monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication with various departments/groups and investment analysts regarding the validity of outliers at the security, segment, and total portfolio level.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of investment performance professionals.
- Face off with clients to answer any questions and provide new enhanced solutions if needed by the client.
- Ensure investment performance analysts calculate turnover and an internal rate of return for a single portfolio or an aggregation of portfolios on a monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc basis.
- Supervise the monthly reconciliation of cash variances.
- Assist the investment performance team in creating, updating, and reviewing indices/benchmarks on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Monitor the team's calculation and validation of risk statistics such as standard deviation and Sharpe ratio and calculation of investment multiples on an ad hoc basis.
Requirements:
- A BA/BS/BBA in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, or statistics.
- Ten years plus experience with some of that in a leadership role - in performance measurement and analytics at a large or medium-sized organization with a strong understanding of various return calculation methodologies and other aspects of performance measurement and reporting.
- Two years of experience in fund accounting is preferred.
- Strong communication and team-building skills.
- Good understanding of corporate actions, security pricing, and accounting general ledgers.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical and critical thinking, employing logic, math, and statistics.
- Familiarity with other performance measurement platforms.
