2025 Engineering & IT Co-op

Our co-op programs are designed to provide paid work experience and valuable hands-on experience in your field. Co-op assignments are typically 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday for 8 months.

Spring 2025 Co-ops (January 2025 - September 2025)

• Operations & Production Engineering
  •  Work on a specific production team working with hourly employees as well as reliability, test, quality, and manufacturing engineers to support Safety, Delivery, Cost, and Quality. Lead and supervise people in assembly/fabrication activities to achieve established productions goals. Monitor and drive quality measures and implement continuous improvement efforts. Collaborate with other internal groups to effect cost reduction, work simplification, production scheduling and manpower planning. 
• Controls Engineering
  • Work with software and hardware teams to develop embedded solutions that bring our products to life. Activities include software development, schematic development, automated testing development, software architecture design, defect investigation, and supporting software releases. 
• Test Engineering
  • Design and implement automated test systems to verify the quality and performance of luxury residential appliances. Work closely with other engineers to provide test engineering support for the manufacturing floor. The test systems may include data acquisition, vision test systems, and electrical and mechanical interfaces. Assist in development, documenting, programming, and building manufacturing test equipment. Provide troubleshooting support and training to manufacturing personnel.  
• Manufacturing Engineering
  • Help coordinate the manufacturing process in either Fabrication, Assembly, or New Product Development. You will be responsible for incorporating various Industrial and Mechanical Engineering principles in a manufacturing environment. Perform analysis of procedures and design fixtures while working to increase productivity and efficiency through the plant while also ensuring safety and quality. Fabrication engineers work closely with CNC programmers and design engineers to ensure parts can be manufactured in a safe production mode. Gain experience in CAD through application of SolidWorks modeling and drawing generation. 
• QA Test Engineering
  • Work with the QA engineering staff to develop and execute software testing on Sub-Zero products. Activities would include assisting in creating test plans, running automated and manual testing, and creating test summary reporting in support of testing embedded controls. Also, would include performing basic wiring, soldering and assembly of test equipment. 
• Azure IoT Engineering
  • Work alongside mobile and embedded software teams to develop the Cloud IoT solutions that make our products smart. Activities include backend software development, software design, automated testing development, defect investigation, and participating in Agile ceremonies. 
• Reliability Engineering
  • Work closely with other engineers to develop solutions to reliability issues with current appliance products as well as assisting in the process of reliability assurance during the Product Development cycle on new appliances. Will take a lead role on projects. 
• Design Engineering
  • Work closely with Design Engineers, Designers, and Technicians to design, develop, test, and document new designs as well as design enhancements to Sub-Zero Inc. products. Create a design, prototype it, build it to test, and then redesign the product to make any necessary corrections. 
• IT Helpdesk
  • Gain exposure to IT ticketing system. Help troubleshoot incoming incidents, including issues related to computer hardware/software, mobile/desk phone support, printer support, conference room support, and production floor support. Help address incoming requests, including imaging new computers, setting up workstations, performing office moves, setting up home users, and installing software. Assist with ongoing desktop support projects. 
• IT Web Development QA
  • Collaborate as a member of a well-established development team focused on delivering high-quality technology solutions. Your contributions will include manual testing, Selenium automated testing, improving observability and performance of our platforms, and assisting with the success of the development release cycle. Gain exposure to the software development lifecycle and learn alongside an established team of professionals working in an agile methodology. 
• IT Customer Experience QA
  • Collaborate as a member of a fast-paced development team with an emerging quality program. Your contributions will include manual testing, TestComplete automated testing, improving observability of quality metrics, and assisting with the success of software deliverables. Gain exposure to the software development lifecycle and learn alongside an established team of professionals working in an agile methodology. 
• IT Data & Analytics
  • Gain real-world experience with modern data platform, data engineering, analytics, and reporting tools and techniques. Embedded within the development team, implement and support products which may include data replication, data modeling and transformation, analytics dashboarding and reporting, and data and analytics tool process improvements. Participate in Agile Scrum development methodology and multi-tier software development and deployment process. Work collaboratively with team members, leadership and stakeholders, and regularly report status of work tasks. 
• IT Security
  • Gain real-world experience with cutting edge security tools to prevent, detect and remediate cyber security attacks. Work with enterprise grade identity and access control systems to enable the right users to have access to the right information at the right time. Interact with end-users to solve security and access issues. Lead team initiatives to improve the overall security hygiene of the organization. 
• Master Data Management
  • Join an exciting, unique project opportunity and help us bring Sub-Zero into the future with SAP as our new, corporate-wide, ERP system! The team is leading efforts to extract, transform and load data from an older ERP, practicing over multiple data and test cycles to prepare for an enterprise go-live in July 2025.  You will be involved with excel spreadsheets, SQL code and be hands-on within SAP.  If you like large amounts of data and looking for inconsistencies, this could be a great role for you!
