The Network Engineer role is a dynamic position on our digital manufacturing team, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of network and security solutions for manufacturing systems. This role involves collaborating with enterprise network engineers, implementing cybersecurity measures, and supporting our operational technology systems. Primary Responsibilities
- Support the design, implementation and maintenance of network and security solutions for manufacturing systems, ensuring the availability and reliability of critical systems
- Collaborate with enterprise network engineers to align IT and OT network architecture
- Implement and configure standard cybersecurity controls to protect manufacturing systems from cyber threats.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, procedures, security rules/configurations and any other documentation to empower technicians/engineers supporting the systems.
- Assists with all disaster recovery initiatives
- Remain current on new products, services, protocols, and standards in support of manufacturing network and security systems.
- Assist with development and implementation of networking projects and new technology installations.
- Contribute to the technical specifications for purchase of networking hardware and software products.
- Assist with procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend for purchase networking hardware and software products.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot network equipment, including switches, routers and wireless devices
- Perform network security administration, including firewalls and Remote Access Solutions.
- Receive and respond to incidents related to manufacturing network/security
- Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs as assigned.
- Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory.
- Prepare, maintain, and adhere to procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring network data.
- Training and support to the service desk support staff on network and security issues within the manufacturing environment.
- Assist with performing server and security audits.
