Position Overview
Survey Documentation Manager oversees the creation, organization, and maintenance of all documentation related to survey processes, methodologies, and outcomes. This role involves higher-level responsibilities compared to a specialist, often focusing on strategy, team management, and quality assurance across survey documentation workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Oversight
- Develop and implement strategies for managing survey documentation across projects.
- Ensure that documentation processes align with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
- Documentation Management:
- Oversee the creation of comprehensive documentation for survey methodologies, design, data collection, and analysis.
- Ensure consistent formatting, version control, and standardization of documentation.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of documentation specialists, ensuring high-quality outputs.
- Delegate tasks effectively and provide training on best practices for survey documentation.
- Process Optimization:
- Streamline documentation workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Introduce tools and technologies to enhance the documentation process.
- Quality Assurance:
- Review and approve documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Regularly audit documentation systems for improvement opportunities.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with researchers, survey designers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate representation of methodologies and findings.
- Serve as the point of contact for documentation-related inquiries.
- Metadata and Data Governance:
- Oversee the management of metadata, including coding systems, data dictionaries, and variable definitions.
- Ensure that metadata aligns with industry standards and supports reproducibility.
- Regulatory and Compliance Adherence:
- Ensure that survey documentation meets legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, such as data privacy and informed consent requirements.
- This role is essential in ensuring the reliability, accessibility, and clarity of survey data and processes
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- A degree in a related field, such as research methodology, data science, information management, or social sciences.
- Experience in survey research, documentation management, or project management.
- Familiarity with tools like Qualtrics, REDCap, or metadata management platforms.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to manage and motivate teams.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in survey platforms, data management systems, and documentation tools.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to create and implement long-term documentation strategies.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures precision and consistency across all documentation.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicates complex methodologies and findings to diverse audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Identifies and addresses gaps or inefficiencies in documentation workflows.
