What impact you will have
Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, this critical role will shape and execute Submer’s sales strategy, driving growth, innovation, and market impact. Role Overview As the Vice President of Sales for North America, you will spearhead Submer’s sales efforts in the region, driving strategy to capture opportunities and expand market presence. With a hands-on, player-coach mindset, you will lead a high-performing sales team, foster growth through direct and indirect channels, and inspire a culture of innovation and excellence. Your leadership will empower your team while ensuring cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and Customer Success teams.
What you’ll do
- You will identify new business opportunities, strengthen existing partnerships, and co-create solutions that position Submer as a market leader. In this pivotal role, your ability to navigate complex sales processes and leverage your market expertise will be instrumental in driving Submer’s success in North America.
- Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Shape and execute a comprehensive sales strategy tailored to North America’s market dynamics.
- Expand Submer’s footprint by balancing direct sales and channel/partner-led approaches.
- Identify and prioritize customers and segments to generate market demand for immersion cooling solutions.
- Team Leadership Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team that thrives on collaboration and results. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and empowerment. Act as a player-coach, offering hands-on support while enabling team growth.
- Partnership Development Forge and scale strategic partnerships with cloud providers, distributors, resellers, systems integrators (SIs), and OEMs.
- Collaborate with internal teams and partners to co-create solutions that address market needs.
- Drive revenue growth by developing and evolving go-to-market (GTM) models with partners.
- Market and Process Optimization Evaluate and refine sales strategies based on performance metrics and market feedback.
- Analyze short- and long-term trends in the data center and cloud ecosystems to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate across departments to align efforts and maximize success. Customer Success Ensure a customer-first approach by understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
- Oversee complex sales processes, ensuring seamless execution and stakeholder alignment.
What you’ll need
- 10 years of experience in IT or the data center ecosystem, with a blend of direct and channel/partner-led sales roles.
- Proven success in both large corporate environments and Private Equity or VC-backed organizations.
- Expertise in co-creating market solutions with Product teams and partners.
- Track record of building and scaling partnerships with cloud providers, distributors, resellers, SIs, and OEMs.
- Experience creating and evolving channel programs to scale and achieve strategic goals.
- Deep knowledge of cloud and data center provider operations and market dynamics. Ability to evaluate performance metrics, refine strategies, and drive growth.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proven ability to create meaningful change and establish market leadership. Energetic, target-driven, and self-motivated with a can-do attitude. Gritty, resilient, and adaptable in dynamic environments.
