What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social detox and sobering technician position at Substance Abuse Center of Kansas?
Ø Facilitate admission and discharges to and from the unit and when necessary, triage from one service to another.
Ø Complete all required paperwork upon admission through discharge when in residential facilities.
Ø Facilitating the taking and documenting of the client’s pulse, temperature, %O2 readings, blood pressure and blood alcohol content and urine analysis in residential facilities.
Ø Adheres to all policies and procedures outlined in the SACK operations manuals.
Ø Provides information on health and wellness issues and provides educational assistance in acquiring new goals and skills.
Ø Assists recovering clients in finding appropriate and affordable housing of their choice in the most integrated, independent, and least restrictive setting through self-advocacy.
Ø Assists clients in feeling connected to recovery community, especially in recreational activities in a drug free environment.
Ø Assists in the process of maintaining client charts in accordance with the Kansas State Standards for drug and alcohol treatment.
Ø Links clients to required services.
Ø Willingly shares appropriate personal recovery experiences (when applicable), demonstrates, and models effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
Ø Helps clients to modify thoughts, and patterns of behavior by increasing understanding of self, personal problems, and client’s part in creating them.
Ø When working at a Recovery Center, recovery technicians will observe peer mentors in assisting clients, completing documentation, and any other duties required.
Ø Performs other duties as needed.

Pay: From $12.50 per hour
