Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate, community-minded Youth-Focused Outreach Coordinator to lead substance use prevention efforts among youth. This role focuses on engaging young people through meaningful programming, relationship-building, and education, while also contributing to grant-funded project success through data tracking, reporting, and support with proposal development.
The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator, experienced working with youth, and familiar with the public health or nonprofit funding landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage youth in substance use prevention programming, including evidence-based curricula and positive youth development initiatives.
- Facilitate interactive workshops, trainings, and events in schools and community settings to promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles.
- Build strong partnerships with schools, youth-serving organizations, and community groups to expand the reach and impact of prevention efforts.
- Support youth in leading prevention campaigns and peer-driven initiatives.
- Create culturally responsive outreach materials and youth-friendly social media content.
- Monitor and evaluate outreach activities to meet grant deliverables and quality assurance standards.
- Maintain detailed records of program participation, outcomes, and community engagement in line with grant requirements.
- Contribute to grant reporting and assist in gathering data, narratives, and supporting documentation for funders.
- Support staff in identifying new funding opportunities and preparing grant applications when needed.
- Represent the organization at coalition meetings, health fairs, and other public events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Youth Development, Education, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 2 years of experience working with youth, ideally in prevention, education, or health outreach settings.
- Understanding of substance use prevention principles, youth risk and protective factors, and community-based approaches.
- Experience managing or supporting grant-funded programs, including data collection and reporting.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
- Background check required.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with prevention grant programs (e.g., SAMHSA, SOR, VFHY, CARA).
- Experience with grant reporting platforms and data systems.
- Digital outreach experience (e.g., Canva, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube).
- Bilingual or multilingual a plus.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and positive youth development models.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
