Main Duties
Civil / structural engineering summer internship position (working under the direction of a Senior Engineer) focusing on the performance of relatively routine activities and tasks related to the design of high voltage substations (15kV to 500kV).
Typical duties include (but are not limited to) :
- Performs design of reinforced concrete foundations and metal substation structures.
- Prepares engineering deliverables such as calculations, reports and specifications.
- Performs routine research and develops recommendations for Construction methods and / or materials selection.
- Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work.
- Prepares calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis.
- Works with designers and drafters to guide the development of drawings.
