What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lunch Monitor position at Substitute Teacher Service?
Substitute Teacher Service is now hiring a Lunch Monitor to work at Garden Spot Secondary campus.
Our ideal candidates have had some previous experience working with children or as a parent volunteer in a school environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide assistance and supervision for children during lunch to ensure a positive and safe environment.
- Interacts with students to maintain order and provide assistance when needed.
- Maintain and follow an established lunch schedule
- Directs movement of students to and from the lunchroom and classrooms in a safe and organized manner.
- Circulates throughout the cafeteria during meal time. Assists students through the cafeteria line in an orderly fashion.
- Responds to emergency situations (injured students, fights, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Reports disciplinary and other concerns to the building administrator and/or classroom teacher. Provides positive reinforcement to ensure proper behavior.
- Maintains regular attendance and is punctual in reporting to work.
Scheduled hours - Monday - Friday, 10:15 am - 1:45 pm, following the student calendar.
Required Background and Health Documents:
- Pennsylvania Criminal Records check (Act 34) must be within 1 year
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance History (Act 151) must be within 1 year
- FBI Criminal History Record (Act 114) must be within 1 year
- Proof of a TB test within 3 months.
- Driver's License clean of any traffic violations
