Substitute Teacher Service is now hiring Paraprofessionals to work during the summer Extended School Year (ESY) at East Pennsboro Area School District.
*Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to work with STS in either a permanent, long term substitute, or per diem substitute position during the 25/26 school year.*
Job Overview:
A Paraprofessional/Paraeducator is responsible for providing assistance to instructional programs by assisting the teacher in achieving educational objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole.
- Executes instructional activities with individual students or small groups of students following teacher direction and demonstration.
- Assists student(s) in special education classes.
- Assists in personal care needs including toileting.
- Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected in the classroom.
- Use of technology equipment.
- Observes and intervenes to redirect inappropriate behavior
- Monitors and guides student(s) to pay attention, participate in activities and complete tasks.
Qualifications and Required Documents
- Pennsylvania Criminal Records check (Act 34)
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance History (Act 151)
- FBI Criminal History Record (Act 114)
- Proof of a TB test or chest x-ray that is less than two years old
- *Proof of a high school diploma or higher education (copy of transcripts/diploma acceptable)
- Additional required STS documents will be provided during on boarding process
Summer Hours: 8:45am - 12:15pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.45 per hour
