Teacher Substitute- William Penn School District

Substitute Teacher Service Inc. is searching for qualified Building Substitutes to work within the William Penn School District. You must commit to working daily Monday- Friday. The rate of pay is $175 per day.

Qualifications and Required Documents

• A Bachelors degree (foreign-educated degree holders should refer to PDE’s website regarding requirements to obtain emergency certification, including having transcripts evaluated by WES (www.wes.org) or another accredited agency in the US. See www.naces.com for acreddited members)
• A Pennsylvania Criminal Records check (Act 34) that is clean and less than 5 years old **
• A Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance History (Act 151) that is clean and less than 5 years old **
• A FBI Criminal History Record that is clean and less than 5 years old **

** Please note: clearances cannot be older than 5 years however, some districts may require new clearances that are less than 1 year old!

• Proof of a TB test or chest x-ray that is less than 3 months
• 3 professional references (contact information) and/or letters
• A Resume
• Routing number and account number for direct deposit setup
• 2 Valid forms of Identification for I-9.

*Attention Foreign-educated Guest Teacher Applicants: The Pennsylvania Public School Code requires that a teacher of a non-foreign language subject, including a Guest Teacher working under a day-to-day emergency permit, must either be a U.S. citizen or hold a lawful permanent resident visa (“green card”) which allows them to live and work in the U.S. If you do not hold a green card, you are ineligible for a permit through the Guest Teacher Program. In addition, an eligible foreign-educated Guest Teacher participant must have a Foreign Evaluation Report completed through a PDE-approved agency to show that their foreign transcript credentials are equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate degree or higher.

Summary

We are seeking a Substitute Teacher to join our team at Substitute Teacher Service, Inc. Responsibilities

• Manage classroom activities and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Deliver lesson plans provided by the regular teacher effectively.
• Engage students in learning and ensure their understanding of the material.
• Implement behavior management strategies to promote a respectful classroom atmosphere.
• Supervise students during breaks and transitions between classes.
• Communicate effectively with school staff and report any issues or concerns.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Requirements

• Proven experience in classroom management and working with students.
• Strong understanding of childhood development principles.
• Ability to educate and inspire students across various age groups.
• Experience in special education is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
