Full- Time Mon - Fri 7 : 30am - 3 : 00pm (35hrs) $20.80 - $21.64 hr
SUMMARY OF DUTIES :
The Day Service Manager provides habilitation services to adults with developmental disabilities in assigned programs; processes intakes on an “as needed” basis; and participates in team meetings and staff meetings, as necessary. The Day Service Manager is the designated staff member responsible for the direction, development and delivery of habilitative services; responsible for the day-to-day administration of the program (as assigned) when the administrator (Team Leader) is absent. The Day Service Manager spends a majority of their working hours in direct interaction with and / or observation of people support in the program and staff in areas where programs are taking place.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
1. Will provide oversight of program services delivered by program / services a person receives.
2. Completes assessments as needed and makes recommendations for program participants.
3. Provide supervision of staff as assigned.
4. Assists the circle of support / planning team in developing meaningful goals and outcomes that support the Staff Action Plans based on needs and interest identified by the person and their assessment(s). Assists in and monitors plan implementation. Participate in Life Plan meetings and provide updates as needed.
5. In conjunction with Team Leader, participates in the internal interview process, training and disciplinary procedures of all DSPs.
6. Insures appropriate and accurate data recording and completes reviews for all Staff Action Plans.
7. May assist in intake process.
8. Is responsible for the administration of the program in the absence of the Day Services Manager II, if applicable.
9. Will utilize the electronic health record system used by the agency.
10. Other duties as assigned.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
- Provide effective, two-way communication with people, both orally and in writing, with the ability to quickly organize and communicate thoughts and to understand communication from others in verbal and written format.
- Ability to read and interpret a variety of documents / instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information informally in one-on-one or small group situations, as well as formal presentations to large groups.
- Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from individuals, staff, regulatory agencies, or members of the community
EXTRAORDINARY WORK CONDITIONS :
Must be able to work flexible / extended hours as needed to meet program needs / job duties.
COMPUTER SKILLS :
QUALIFICATIONS :
A Bachelor’s Degree in the field of education, social work, psychology, rehabilitation or related human services field PLUS one (1) year experience working with people with developmentally disabled
Associate’s Degree as noted above PLUS two (2) years’ experience
High School and (4) years’ experience
Prior experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS :
First Aid / C.P.R. certification
SCIP-R Certification
Valid NYS Driver’s License with driving record that is acceptable within Agency’s criteria.
