Retrofit Technician Responsibilities Include:
- Perform basic to mild automotive repairs.
- Remove and place any given part at any given time.
- Diagnose vehicles as they come in.
- Program modules within the vehicles using a computer.
- Perform unspecified problems with a vehicle, knowing, or having an idea of how to correct it as well as the procedures taken.
- Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service’s DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Basic diagnostic skills.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Own a cell phone to communicate with clients and team members.
- Mild to moderate understanding of how to use a computer for programming all modules within a vehicle.
- Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Must be customer service oriented.
- Must have exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must be a reliable team player.
- Must have basic hand tools and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, picks, pliers, hammers, impacts, ratchets, and grinders.
- Experience using battery chargers and maintainers.
- Experience using special equipment (hoist, transmission jacks, cherry pickers).
- Proper use of handling fluids.
