What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Rep / Dispatch Assistant position at Suburban Carting Co.?
Westchester County’s premier waste hauler seeks to fill a customer service position/ administrative assistant position with an exceptional go-getter with solid previous experience in the waste hauling industry. This position will involve interacting with our customers in a professional, courteous manner to resolve customer issues such as missed pickups, holiday schedule changes and special pick up requests. You will also be assisting in other areas of the business such as accounts receivable and maintenance administration as needed. This is an excellent opportunity to learn different aspects of this industry for the right candidate!
Candidate will:
- Answer incoming calls and respond to customer requests or resolve problems.
- Answer incoming calls to provide information about pricing & procedure to temporary dumpster rentals.
- Take orders/ foster sales for temporary dumpster rentals and follow up with customer for necessary routing and payment information.
- Receive and check out drivers at the end of each route and discuss any service irregularities, truck problems, etc.
- Close routes/ “books” of service
- Reroute customers for missed pickups and holidays.
- Provide information about acceptable waste and recycling rules.
- Cover other positions in the event of a coworker absence such as vacation.
- Assist operations managers as needed
- Assist collections and accounts receivable as needed
The ideal candidate must be:
- Experienced in a route-based service company
- Knowledgeable of and comfortable with computers, specifically Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of Trux Haul It route management software is a plus!
- Tolerant and flexible with different work situations, customer temperaments and scenarios
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, sometimes high stress environment, while remaining courteous and providing exceptional service to customers
- Highly organized, detail oriented and able to prioritize
