Job Goal : To provide educational leadership at the school level to assist in the overall direction and coordination of educational and administrative activities, while establishing and maintaining a positive school culture and productive relationships within the school community. Contribute to the development and organization of educational programming to ensure conformance to state and school district standards, as well as overall school improvement and student achievement.
Qualifications :
- Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator Licensure with a General Administrative or Principal endorsement
- The employee shall possess the minimum of a Master's Degree
- LBS1 Endorsement preferred
- Prior teaching, administrative, and educational leadership experience at the K-12 level.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
Provides exemplary leadership in the educational administration of the school by assuring the efficient and effective operations of the school by communicating and motivating students, families and staff.Ensures that District instructional and management programs are implemented, monitored, and evaluated with fidelity.Ensures efficient and effective performance of assigned staff within District human resources policies and procedures by assigning, supervising, evaluating, and scheduling the work of assigned staff, as well as participates in the selection of new employees and makes recommendations regarding the hiring, discipline, transfer and termination of employees.Coordinates with building principal and case managers to serve as the district LEA representative at IEP meetings and Section 504 coordinator for the school, and oversees implementation and oversight of special services programming within the school setting and for out-of-district placed students.Maintains accurate service delivery records and responds to all correspondence in a timely manner, generally within 24 hours on days of operation.Demonstrates commitment to student achievement, school improvement, and professional development by leading training, meetings and working collaboratively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to employees and staff committees actively involved in contributing to school improvement plans, decision-making and problem-solving.Coordinate, develop, supervsie and improve the curricular and instructional program, as well as the extracurricular program.Provides a positive learning climate in the school by establishing, enforcing and maintaining appropriate student behavior standards and guidelines.Managing discipline and behavior modification plans and procedures.Collect, maintain, and communicate data on student performance.Completes compliance training as required by the District.Ensures effective student-staff-family-community relations by communicating and promoting participation and engagement in the school environment.Ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful learning environment by developing, implementing, and monitoring effective safety and security programs and procedures for buildings, grounds, and transportation routes to school.Provides assistance in the establishment of budgets, acquisition of funds, and procurement of materials.Possesses knowledge of District policies and regulations relating to areas of responsibility ensuring that all State and Federal laws, negotiated contracts, Board policy and District administrative and school regulations are adhered to by students, staff, parents, and the community by communicating, interpreting, and implementing laws, policies, and rules to all involved for effective day-to-day and long term operations.Perform any duties that are within the scope of employment and licensure, as assigned by the School Principal and / or District Administration and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Familiarity with K-8 school level educational practices and child developmental needs.Experience facilitating, leading, and organizing student evaluations, reevaluations and annual evaluations.Experience with school scheduling.Experience working collaboratively with student support personnel and related service staff.Can inspire and motivate staff in a time of historical change in the field of education.Knowledge of relevant curriculum requirements, educational research and standards.Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with a wide range of constituencies and is comfortable in remaining highly visible to all stakeholders.Understands effective teaching and learning best practices for all students and can influence staff to effectively implement sound instructional practices.Can guide and lead professional educators in the establishment of curriculum and appropriate teaching concepts, approaches, and methodology.Understands statistics, can analyze and communicate data effectively.Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions regarding the safety and welfare of students.Ability to perform assigned duties and tasks with a minimum of direction.Ability to maintain effective student, family, community and co-worker relationships.Ability to physically move about the district buildings and grounds.Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.Ability to handle all district information with confidentiality, discernment, and professionalism.Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk and hear.The employee is frequently required to stand; walk, operate office and computer equipment; reach with hands and arms and will repeat actions with the same hand, arm or finger motion.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, the ability to withstand long-term use of computer monitors is required.The employee may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.The position requires meeting unyielding deadlines, interacting with the public and staff, and working irregular or extended work hours.Occasional Driving is required.Frequent writing is required.The employee may be required to attend after hour meetings as required.The employee must be able to read, understand, and provide direction.The employee must be able to respond to emergencies which occur throughout the district 24 / 7.Work Environment :
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, on occasion, the noise level will be high.The employee shall frequently use personal computing skills with web browsers, databases, software, spreadsheets, and word processing.Work is usually conducted indoors and outdoors. This work could be conducted at any school location.Salary :
95,000 and an excellent benefit package in a 210-Day administrative contract commencing July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026
