Under the general direction of principal / Director of Special Education, the Special Education Teacher will maximize the learning experience of students with special needs in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living by implementing district approved curriculum with necessary modifications and accommodations; documenting teaching and student progress / activities, outcomes; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
Education, Experience, and Certification :
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education required; Master's degree preferred.
- Valid Professional Educator Licensure from the Illinois State Board of Education.
- SCG3 - Early Childhood Education endorsement (Birth - Grade 3).
- LBSI endorsement (PreK-Age 21).
- Two years of successful special education teaching experience highly preferred.
- Satisfactory report from a fingerprint-based criminal history records check.
