We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sewer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sewing, stitching, and altering a variety of textile products. Your exceptional sewing skills and attention to detail will play a key role in ensuring the quality and craftsmanship of our products.
As a Sewer, you will be responsible for interpreting patterns, cutting fabric, and sewing products according to specifications. Additionally, you will be required to make alterations and repairs to products s as needed. Your ability to work with precision and accuracy is crucial to maintaining the high-quality standards that our customers expect.
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of different types of fabrics and their characteristics. You should also be proficient in using sewing machines and other tools and equipment commonly used in commercial sewing. Attention to detail and the ability to interpret and follow complex instructions are essential qualities for this position.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Correctly and carefully sew products or assemble products, sub-assemblies per work orders, pick lists or job packets.
- Read and follow work instructions and blueprints ensuring quality and accuracy of production meets the set standard
- Properly storing and marking of sewn and assembled products, raw components materials
- Updating purchasing if material is substituted during the sewing or assembly process or if more material is used than previously tagged for production.
- Coordinating daily work flow and duties of assembled products, inventoried products, Sidewinder sleeves and straps with supervisor or Production Coordinator.
- Packaging parts to insure the quality of the items whether the items are shipped via our truck, courier or stored on the shelf.
- Keep tools, testing, weighing and sewing equipment in good working order.
- Oversee machines, equipment, and moving pieces during the production process; execute problem-solving for abnormalities or malfunctions
- Communicate quality issues identified during the safety fabric sewing or assembly process

- High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.

- Prefer, but not required- previous Industrial sewing or machine operator experience
Working Conditions:
- The ability to lift and move heavy boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to handle repetitive hand motions.
- The ability to work independently.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The employee must have the ability to compute rate.
- Hand scissors and hand tools related to hardware, grommets, rivets, and snaps.
- Perform receiving inspection duties as necessary and in cooperation with the Quality Manager.
- Physical Demands: The employee will be required to regularity sit or stand or a combination of both for periods of up to 10 hours. The employee will also need to walk, use hands, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, as well as pull, fold and hold materials. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and taste or smell.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to focus, and ability to see color.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to moderate noise levels, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
