RequirementsWhat Will You Be Doing?Generate analytical data to support environmental compliance and decision makingPerform analyses following SOPs based on approved analytical methods using a variety of analytical techniques, equipment and instrumentationUtilize technical knowledge to apply problem solving skills in a focused area of the lab and execute analyses consistently across a range of analytical techniquesIdentify and help implement procedural opportunities for time savingsSupport and participate in quality events such as auditsCore CompetenciesCurious person who enjoys continuous learningTenacious problem solver with strong analytical skillsAble to demonstrate enthusiasm for exceeding performance goals for your positionAble to demonstrate a high level of accountability and solid teamworkProficient in Microsoft Office (especially excel and word) and other windows softwareQualificationsBachelor's in chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology or related area; OR equivalent experienceMinimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on, laboratory analysis job experience outside of academiaStarting pay is dependent on experience levelPrior on-the-job experience involving SVOA, (semi-volatile organic analyses), Inorganics or Microbiology lab analysis is helpful but not required.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds periodically during each work shift.Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 10 pounds constantly.Engage in the following movements : Balancing, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking, grasping, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and / or operation of machines.The incumbent is potentially subject to conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin : odors, gases, poor ventilation.If unable to demonstrate these abilities upon a standardized, objective assessment performed by external occupational health professionals, all reasonable accommodations will be made, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and any other applicable Federal and Pennsylvania law.Salary Description $21 to $28 per hour
