Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager supports the General Store Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining Subway standards. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, handling administrative tasks, and stepping in as the acting manager in the absence of the General Store Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support:
- Assist in managing daily operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to Subway policies.
- Monitor food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and consistency.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Staff Supervision:
- Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring team members.
- Schedule employee shifts to ensure proper staffing levels.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to encourage growth.
- Lead by example, maintaining a positive work environment.
Customer Service:
- Ensure excellent customer service is provided by all staff members.
- Handle escalated customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Foster a welcoming environment that encourages repeat business.
Financial and Inventory Management:
- Assist in monitoring sales, labor costs, and food expenses to meet profitability goals.
- Manage inventory levels by conducting regular counts and placing orders as needed.
- Handle cash, deposits, and register reconciliations accurately.
Administrative Duties:
- Prepare reports on sales, inventory, and employee performance for review by the General Store Manager.
- Assist with implementing marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns.
- Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping for compliance purposes.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 12 years of experience in restaurant management or leadership roles (Subway experience is a plus).
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership and teambuilding skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficient in inventory management and scheduling software.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
- Problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
Other Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
