What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Manager position at Subway?
Position Summary:
The District Manager directs overall day to day operations for their territory. They continuously train and oversee team members and are responsible for all stores within their territory. They assist with day to day operations.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly handles hiring within the region, oversees hiring orientation for new employees and ensures employees are correctly added to all Liveiq and backend systems. Coordinates with the Store Manager to begin scheduling new team members.
- Assists in the development of incentives, new programs, and training.
- Works with staff to achieve all sales goals, assists and provides using available data to increase sales and effectively manage controllable expenses.
- Manages local and national marketing initiatives within territory.
- Handles employee relations.
- Attends and oversees regional team meetings.
- Spends a minimum of 20 hours a week on in store visits. Regularly visits all stores within territory.
- Completes all required training by Subway and Parish Management, LLC
- Manages maintenance of facilities with the assistance of Facilities Manager and/maintenance team.
- Coordinates with vendors and technicians within the region.
- Assists with management and operation of stores.
- Ensures all stores within region are open and operating within normal business hours at all times.
Prerequisites:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
Experience & Skills: Minimum of 2 years of highly successful operational management in a restaurant environment or 5 years of highly successful operational management in a retail environment. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Basic math and accounting skills and strong analytic/decision making skills are needed. Strongly demonstrated achievement in staff development and continued professional growth.
Physical: Must be able to work in all positions of the restaurant, regularly lift up to 10 lbs, and occasionally up to 30 lbs. Must be able to regularly work long, standing shifts, and availability to work extended weekly hours as is necessary to ensure successful operations of stores within territory. Driving will be required

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
