Job Description: Shift Leader
Position Overview:
As a Shift Leader, you will oversee the daily operations of a Subway restaurant during your assigned shift. You will ensure that team members deliver exceptional customer service, maintain high-quality food preparation standards, uphold the restaurant's cleanliness and safety standards, and emphasize the importance of staying on top of dishes that stack up and maintaining a clean and appealing store environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and provide guidance to the team members during your assigned shift, including Sandwich Artists and other staff.
2. Ensure that all team members adhere to Subway's operational and service standards, including food preparation, customer service, and cleanliness.
3. Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and development to enhance their skills and performance.
4. Assist in scheduling and assigning work shifts for team members, ensuring adequate staffing levels during peak hours.
5. Monitor food inventory levels and coordinate with the Store Manager to place orders as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
6. Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints, striving to resolve issues promptly and maintain customer satisfaction.
7. Perform opening and closing duties, including cash handling, reconciling cash drawers, and completing necessary paperwork.
8. Enforce food safety and sanitation procedures, ensuring compliance with health department regulations and Subway's standards.
9. Collaborate with the Store Manager to implement marketing and promotional activities to drive sales and increase customer traffic.
10. Emphasize the importance of staying on top of dishes that stack up and maintaining a clean and appealing store environment, ensuring the store is attractive to customers.
Qualifications:
1. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in the food service industry or a QSR environment.
2. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and guide team members effectively.
3. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle customer concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
4. Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, as well as health department regulations.
5. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the business.
6. Basic computer skills to handle POS systems, inventory management, and other restaurant-related software.
