As an Elementary School Science Teacher at Success Academy, you will engage students from low-income neighborhoods in a rigorous and enriching science curriculum designed to develop their critical thinking skills. The role emphasizes scientific literacy across various disciplines, fostering a passion for inquiry and exploration among scholars.
You will join a collaborative team dedicated to empowering students and preparing them for college and leadership roles in the future. Our Science program ignites a passion in scholars for scientific thinking and curiosity.
We develop our scholars as citizens of science, empowering them to engage creatively, critically, and meaningfully with the world around them in ways that are endlessly fascinating, complex, and philosophical. Scholars engage flexibly with different scientific disciplines, compelling them to see engineering, physics, mathematics, chemistry, and biology as all interdependent.
We also place a strong emphasis on scientific literacy, with special attention to reading, writing, and data literacy. A background in education is not required. At Success Academy, we provide you with extensive training and a proven curriculum so you can focus on working with your students instead of building lesson plans.

Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners;
- Using data to inform instruction and drive student growth;
- Collaborating with colleagues to design and implement school-wide initiatives;
- Providing ongoing support and scaffolding to ensure students' understanding and success;
- Communicating effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree before your first day of work with Success Academy;
- A rigorous and relevant academic major (i.e., biology, chemistry, physics, engineering);
- Ability to work in person in New York City ($2500 stipend for qualified relocations);
- Supervise a classroom of 20 students;
