Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Service Manager to play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations and ensuring the seamless coordination between office operations and field teams. This leadership position is responsible for delivering top-quality service, optimizing operational efficiency, and enhancing the overall customer experience.
As the HVAC Service Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager, overseeing dispatch, procurement, and client services professionals while closely collaborating with field operations teams to drive strategy execution. Above all, you will be a customer service champion, leading your team to exceed client expectations consistently.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain proactive communication with clients, ensuring transparency, responsiveness, and a commitment to service excellence.
- Oversee quality assurance metrics, including first-time-fix rates, service level agreements (SLAs), and overall customer satisfaction.
Operational Leadership & Efficiency
- Coordinate across departments (Dispatch, Warehouse & Procurement, and Field Technicians) to ensure accurate work order assignment and on-time project completion.
- Oversee technician performance, including safety compliance, job site cleanliness, vehicle inspections, and uniform adherence.
- Manage warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management and procurement processes.
Team Leadership & Development
- Create and manage on-call schedules in collaboration with Lead Technicians to ensure consistent service coverage.
- Lead weekly team meetings, focusing on company updates, safety discussions, and fostering a culture of collaboration.
- Recruit, interview, and hire technicians and operational staff, ensuring the organization maintains a high-performance culture.
- Coach and mentor team members, providing guidance, performance feedback, and support in alignment with company standards.
Strategic Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with the General Manager to align operational strategies with overall business objectives.
- Implement new initiatives and drive team-wide adoption of best practices.
- Identify opportunities to enhance service efficiency and optimize project execution, ensuring the company remains a leader in the market.
Compliance & Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards, including EPA 608 certification requirements for refrigerant handling.
- Adapt to evolving business needs and client requirements as they arise.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Experience & Education
- 10 years of field experience in HVAC and refrigeration services, with proven leadership experience in service or operations management.
- Extensive technical knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, and project scope management.
- EPA 608 certification (or equivalent) required.
Technical & Leadership Proficiency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, lead meetings, and ensure compliance with operational strategies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both internal teams and external clients.
- A high level of accountability and commitment to supporting team success.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain).
- Comfortable climbing ladders up to 25 feet and working at elevated heights when required.
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
