Job Title: Café Manager – SUCCESS Space Fredericksburg

We’re seeking a passionate and driven Café Manager to lead our café operations and team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing daily operations, supervising baristas and café staff, and ensuring a seamless, high-quality guest experience that reflects our brand values of productivity, hospitality, and connection.

The Café Manager plays a key leadership role in cultivating a welcoming environment for local professionals, entrepreneurs, and guests who gather in our unique coworking and café space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all daily café operations, ensuring smooth service, cleanliness, efficiency, and alignment with company standards.
• Lead, train, and mentor baristas and support staff, fostering a positive team culture that emphasizes collaboration, respect, and growth.
• Manage staff schedules, payroll, and performance, adapting to staffing needs and ensuring appropriate coverage during business hours and events.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels for food, beverages, and supplies; place orders as needed and manage vendor relationships.
• Uphold high standards of customer service, resolving any guest concerns or issues with professionalism and care.
• Support the preparation and presentation of high-quality beverages and food, maintaining consistency and excellence across all offerings.
• Enforce compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as local laws regarding food handling and alcohol service.
• Assist with budget management, cost control, and reporting key performance metrics to upper management.
• Partner with the SUCCESS Space team to coordinate in-café promotions, community events, and special activations that drive traffic and brand engagement.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inspiring café environment that invites connection and productivity.
• Promote café membership benefits, helping guests engage more deeply with the SUCCESS Space community.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in a café, coffee shop, or hospitality management role (team lead or supervisor experience preferred).
• Current or eligible Certified Food Protection Manager certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Deep passion for coffee, food service, customer experience, and community building.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive, customer-first mindset.
• Ability to handle scheduling, inventory management, ordering, and vendor coordination.
• Availability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and events as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
