General position summary :
The Claims Coordinator is to process new incoming claims, research and validate coverage for any claims that come into department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Receive all telephone calls / emails and correspondence from customers and drivers regarding claims and potential claims. Initiate action to resolve the problem.
Research information when claims received to ensure the correct parties are notified.
Compile and maintain data regarding all loss / damage claims; prepare reports for management on the relevant data for each claim and member of personnel involved.
Validate the type of coverage for each claim
Send out settlement checks and letters to customers to resolve the claim.
Education & Experience :
Must have a minimum of One (1) Year of experience in an administrative and / or service-driven environment. Experience in claims within the logistics, relocation, transportation, or fleet industry preferred. Some college preferred.
Working Conditions :
Work is primarily performed in a climate controlled environment. Requires sitting, walking, and standing, often sitting for extended periods of time. Work performed requires the use of hands to control or feel objects and will utilize repetitive movements when entering data. Requires the use of clear speech communicated to others and understanding the speech of another person. Requires the ability to see details of objects within close range.
