SUMMARY:
The Facilities Supervisor oversees maintenance of building and grounds. Will oversee routine maintenance on facilities and oversee and make repairs as needed. Maintains day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates and maintains custodial functions. Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces.
- Completes basic facility and/or routine maintenance repairs. Ensures appropriate 3rd party is engaged for more complex repairs/improvements.
- Ensures maintenance orders are completed in a timely manner and following appropriate procedures.
- Supervises the custodial team, ensuring work is performed at the expected level and manner. Coaches, develops, and rewards team members appropriately.
- Works with EHS to ensure security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly based on the facility specifics.
- Ensures that the facility is clean and maintained according to company policy and procedures.
- Manages and reviews service contracts.
- Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections.
- Checks completed work by vendors and contractors.
- Recommends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications.
- Supports EHS to communicate workplace safety precautions to employees.
- Monitor security systems such as locks, fences, surveillance systems, and lock up procedures
QUALIFICATONS:

Education & Experience
BA in facility management, business, information management, or engineering preferred. Minimum 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have prior experience working with HVAC and other whole building systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises custodial employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential, or equivalent desired
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of HVAC systems
- Knowledge of contract management
- Ability to operate and function effectively in required systems
- Project Management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workday
- Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills
- Ability to work under deadlines and specific time frames
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and to work with minimum supervision

Physical Activity Level:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, see clearly and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unassisted. The employee must be able to carry and climb a ladder. Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis. Must be able to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements.
Working Conditions:
Outdoors and indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation. Exposure to vibration, improperly illuminated or awkward and confining work spaces. Working above ground level where the possibility of falling exists. Frequent lifting and carrying of items. Loud noises typical.
