JOB PURPOSE:
The hardware integration technician is responsible for assisting with hands-on assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of car care POS hardware, both in-house and in the field. As daily issues and opportunities are presented to the Hardware Development and Integration Team, the person in this role will be the front-line responder, allowing the team to remain focused on scheduled project goals.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, read, stand, bend, lift, twist, reach with hands and arms to push and pull.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position works under general direction of the [manager title listed], exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance in the department.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field preferred. Will consider experience or demonstrated knowledge in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in participating in projects of moderate complexity
- 0-2 years experience with field troubleshooting of electronic, electrical, and mechanical devices.
- Familiar with testing and evaluating computer hardware and software - POS hardware preferred.
- Familiarity of Windows OS, and common office applications including Word, Excel, and Visio.
- Basic knowledge of Windows networking, including routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and managed switches.
- Basic proficiency with AutoCAD software.
- Basic proficiency in technical writing.
- Ability to effectively operate hand and power tools.
- Discrete component level experience including resistors, capacitors, coils, integrated circuits, and embedded processors.
- Willingness to travel by road and air, with occasional overnight stays. This will include up to 15% travel.
Skill Sets:
- Exceptional communication skills - written, verbal, and graphical.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to troubleshoot systems without strong supporting documentation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of assembling and modifying thru-hole and SMT PCB sub-assemblies with soldering and de-soldering equipment.
- Ability to work a variety of hours.
- Ability to work with multiple people/departments to determine real needs and priorities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
