Compassionate Caregiver

Overview:

We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team.

As a Caregiver, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of support and care.

Duties:

- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Administer medication under the direction of healthcare professionals
- Help with meal preparation and feeding
- Perform light housekeeping tasks
- Transport clients to appointments or outings
- Monitor and report changes in client's health or behavior

Experience:

- Experience in assisted living, home care, nursing homes, or childcare is preferred but not required. We can train you in the job, as long as you come equipped with empathy and compassion and a kind heart!
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques
- Ability to lift and move patients safely
- Knowledge of patient care practices
- Experience working with people with autism is a plus

We are looking to hire additional caregivers to work in our assisted living home, providing love, care, aid and kindness to 9 residents with late stage Dementia/Alzheimer's disease.

Previous experience is not required. We are more than willing to teach and train, as long as you are willing to learn. We are looking for are people who are kind, motivated, and willing work in tandem with a coworker, sharing duties and supporting each other to offer the best care possible. We want to create and sustain a healthy, positive environment not only for our residents, but also for our employees.

We will always recommend our caregivers use the aid equipment in their efforts to assist our residents with their daily needs as needed. Teamwork and two person assists are also encouraged. Even when using the assistance of equipment or a coworker, the physicality of the work will still require employees to have the strength to help sit up/lay down/transfer residents into/out of chairs and beds. It’s very difficult to put a weight limit on how much a worker should be able to lift and/or support. Instead just know that in the most general of terms, you will be required to safely but physically help move another human being several time throughout the day. If the physical nature of the job is something that you are not able to manage, we are sorry but we do not have any other positions available to hire for.

Some of the main aspects of the job that are not as physical in nature include the daily charting and dispensing of medicines and meals to those who we care for. Laundry, dishes and typical household cleaning are daily tasks that are required. This is not a complete summary of all the things that you will experience in your time with us, but it’s a basic overview of what you can expect on a day to day basis.
