The Role
The Project Engineer, QA/QC, will be responsible for managing quality assurance and quality control documentation, as well as overseeing document control and other related project processes. This role involves developing and maintaining logs associated with field QC processes and ensuring the timely resolution of outstanding issues.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures to achieve high levels of quality in construction projects.
- Create project-specific Quality Management Plans and verify their implementation.
- Develop Quality metrics to empower teams to review information on quality execution and address trends.
- Conduct random site evaluations to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements and local quality regulations.
- Act as a resource for field operations with regard to compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements and local quality regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with trends and evolving best practices by participating in organizations and forums dedicated to Quality.
- Represent Suffolk Construction Company, Inc. with Owners, Architects, Consultants, Government Authorities, Vendors and Subcontractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Quality Management or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience in related construction fields.
- Solid understanding of means and methods of construction.
- Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry.
- Working knowledge of national and State code and quality regulations/standards.
