The Role
Suffolk is seeking people who are bold, curious, innovative, and caring. This position works with Superintendents, Project Managers, and Project Executives to take a leadership role in the administration, direction, and implementation of corporate safety and health policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Create, communicate, enforce, and identify opportunities for improvements in corporate safety programs
- Mentor and supervise Safety Managers as required by Regional Safety Directors
- Provide administrative expertise related to project-specific safety document storage in OnTrac
- Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate subcontractors Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings
- Review all Subcontractors Site Specific Safety Programs and Job Hazard Analysis prior to Subcontractor mobilization
- Conduct regularly scheduled site evaluations using Predictive Solutions software
- Periodically attend and monitor Tool Box Talks conducted by subcontractors
- Perform root cause and accident investigation techniques in the event of a job site accident
- Active coordination with Regional Risk Manager's for identification of Claims trends
- Enforce documentation from all subcontractors on the proper training of their employees
- Conduct training for OSHA 10 or 30 Hour, HAZWOPER, and other Safety related topics
- Expertise with HAZCOM / HAZMAT

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and / or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
