Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking an experienced ski industry IT Manager to oversee the operations of the IT Department. The IT Manager works closely with the Leadership Team and departments across the resort to deliver enabling technologies and implement best practice processes. Sugar Bowl has embarked on impactful guest experience and operational refinements, to which IT is a critical component. Sugar Bowl seeks an adaptable IT Manager that thrives in dynamic environments and whose leadership is aligned to Sugar Bowl values.
This is a year-round, full-time position, primarily onsite.

What you will do
- Leadership & Team Management: Oversee and mentor a talented team of IT Specialists across critical areas such as network infrastructure, POS systems, business systems, resort-specific technologies, product set-up and help desk support.
- Key Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with external consultants, contractors, and vendors to manage services related to security, internet, phones, and other matters. Negotiate and oversee contracts and service agreements to ensure high-quality and cost-effective solutions.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with various departments across the resort to integrate and optimize technologies, including the online store, to improve both guest satisfaction and operational performance.
- IT Systems & Infrastructure Management: Continually assess, enhance, and manage the resort’s IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
- Policy & Process Development: Responsible for IT policies and procedures, including security, disaster recovery, architecture standards, purchasing, and service provision.
- Financial Management: Oversee the IT department's budget, purchasing, and resource allocation, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining service standards.
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Propose and execute projects that align with resort goals and adopt industry best practices.
- Exceptional Service: Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, delivering excellent support and ensuring seamless IT operations for staff, guests, and homeowners.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support resort operations.
Who you are
- Extensive IT Leadership Experience: Proven track record of success in leading IT teams and projects.
- Ski Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IT needs and solutions specific to the ski resort industry. Experience with platforms such as Axess, Aspenware, and RTP is highly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong background in managing diverse IT systems, including networking, business systems, security, and point-of-sale solutions.
- Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and devise innovative solutions under tight deadlines.
- Project Management: Experience in planning, implementing, and scaling IT infrastructure projects from start to finish.
- Security, Privacy & Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with data privacy laws and best practices for maintaining system security and user confidentiality.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the resort.
- Organized & Adaptable: Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving resort environment.
