What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nordic Grooming Operator position at SUGAR BOWL SKI RESORT?
Royal Gorge Cross Country, Sugar Bowl's Nordic Ski area, is looking for Groomers to operate a grooming cat to prepare the ski area snow for cross country skiing.

Who you are
- Possession of a valid Class C Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by Sugar Bowl Corp’s insurance carrier
- At least 1 year full time grooming experience in modern grooming machinery with tillers
- If no Nordic grooming experience, the willingness to learn
- Ability to work exposed to outside mountain weather conditions, in proximity to moving mechanical parts
What you will do
- Provide excellent customer service to customers, employees and business partners
- Operate tracked equipment on ski trails
- Perform inspection of equipment before and after operation of grooming machinery
- Assist with grooming machinery maintenance including checking fluid levels, condition of machinery and other areas in order to maintain grooming machinery in a safe and proper working order
- Document and report condition of grooming machinery to management and vehicle maintenance
- Have working knowledge of Royal Gorge’s extensive track system
- Know efficient grooming patterns and where and how to set classic skiing specific tracks
- Report hazards, down trees, detours and necessity for tree or brush removal to management and ski patrol
- Operate grooming machinery and perform job duties and responsibilities in extreme weather conditions during the late evening and early morning hours of the day
- Assist with snow removal including shoveling and clearing snow from walkways, paths and other areas as necessary
