GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages capex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet technical and safety standards. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating resources, resolving technical issues, tracking progress, managing risks, managing contractors, and ensuring quality. They communicate with stakeholders, oversee budgets, and focus on continuous improvement to optimize efficiency and outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish project, procedures, data collection methods, and performance standards within parameters of company standards and policy.
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the assigned engineering projects.
- Create RFQ, and RFP to create project requests and Project Charters.
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnels performance) and report regularly on project status.
- Assign responsibilities and mentor the project team.
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform Mechanical Design calculations for Piping, vessel, or structural steel as-needed basis.
- Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management to meet deadlines and adapt to unforeseen situations.
- Advanced analytical skills with the proven ability to communicate complex data to various stakeholders.
- High proficiency in utilizing scheduling, cost estimating, and budget management software.
- Strong computer competency and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or relevant discipline, from an Accredited Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) institution.
- Five or more years of experience in project management, project engineering, or project planning (scope, schedule, cost, quality) within industrial manufacturing facilities.
- Working towards achieving the Professional Engineer (PE) License is a plus.
- Working towards Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of ASME Sec. VIII Div I 31.1, 31.3, Sec. V, Sec. IX is considered an asset.
- Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Proficient in utilizing Project Management Body of Knowledge (MBOK) terminology and standardization.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regular attendance is required during your scheduled shift.
- Must be able to perform all duties within an environment that includes heat, stairs, ramps, uneven walking surfaces, noise, and dust.
- Must be able to perform all duties within the power plant operations, which includes bending, steps, kneeling, reaching, and crawling.
- Occasional lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
