GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Transportation Dispatcher constantly monitors software, cameras and performs job duties such as general dispatching, utilizing programs and applications (APP’s), two-way radio communication, yard supervision, shift end reports; performs any other dispatcher objectives associated with the job responsibilities. Required to be in constant communication with management, supervisors, and Mill staff, ensuring everyone’s focus is on the end goal in maximizing production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor traffic around the yard, report backups to Supervision.
- Monitor trailer weights, communicate back to the unit Supervisors when weights are below 24,000lbs.
- Monitor trailer counts across the scales. The goal is 45 trailers per hour, dispatch is responsible for communicating this back to the unit Supervisors to adjust accordingly to maintain the goal.
- Monitoring loaded and unloaded yard trailer inventory count,
- When business needs dictate the loaded parked trailer inventory must be increased. The loaded trailer count will be monitored daily and adjusted accordingly based off the following conditions.

- Weather.
- Unit distance to the mill.
- Mill grind plan.
- Number of haulers on the road.
- Road conditions such as construction or major delays.

- Scheduling water trucks, Dump trucks, winch trucks and low boy equipment deliveries while minimizing overtime.
- Scheduling equipment operators for road repairs and spill cleanups.
- Monitoring DOT Citations, logging information and handing off citations to the Director for processing.
- Ordering materials for road repairs.
- Logging grower work in eMaint for proper billing while maintaining a schedule.
- Monitoring Mud and Bagasse weights, recording onto shared folder.
- Act as a call center for emergencies
- Gather facts, contact appropriate management.
- Monitor weather conditions, keep in communication with field operations and assist accordingly.
- Employee call outs, logging callouts and reporting to appropriate supervision/management.
- Direct mechanics and fuel trucks after hours as needed.
- Annual tare weight check in’s (truck and trailers).
- Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of emergency processes and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office with proven experience in data entry.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to perform simple accounting procedures.
- Basic data entry and/or word processing skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Ability to prepare business reports.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bilingual and Biliterate – English and Spanish, preferred.
LICENSES REQUIRED: Regular Class “E” Driver’s license.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role; applied training / trade school.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regular attendance is required during normal working hours.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 15 pounds.
