Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for guiding and leading a team of electricians for the execution of electrical equipment Operation and Maintenance activities on the industrial facility. Provide field support on electrical equipment related projects. This role involves ensuring that electrical equipment is installed and maintained in accordance with safety standards and project specifications.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:  Follow up on contractor onsite labor tasks assigned to the electric shop and provide the proper feedback to comply timelines and quality expectations.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Document electrical drawings and control schemes for development of department blueprints.
  • Guide and coordinate the activities of a team of electricians and O/S temporary labor.
  • Inspect electrical installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to designed specifications for operation and safety compliance standards.
  • Train and instruct new electricians.
  • Prepare estimates of materials list and labor for electrical equipment related projects and maintenance.
  • Develop and execute industry’s best practices maintenance guidelines for electrical equipment based on OEM and operating condition experiences.
  • Request/Create WO’s and assign the resources needed and used to carry on the electrical equipment related activities on industrial facility.
  • Propose and execute improvement for the efficient use of resources and equipment reliability.
  • Document technical reports of events that affect the availability and/or efficiency of electrical equipment.
  • Lead and support emergency repairs after normal working hours and participate in "On-Call Duty" rotation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. 
  • Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.

 

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Deep technical knowledge and experience of O&M of electrical equipment (MV and LV Substations and auxiliary Equipment, LV VFD’s, Soft Starters, MCC’s, Electric Motors, General electrical installations.)
  • Ability to operate electrical predictive equipment (Motor Circuit Analyzers, Thermographic camera, Power quality analyzer, UT Bearing lubrication conditioner.)
  • Operate forklift, overhead crane, hoist, various hand & power tools, mechanical precision measuring tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership skills and growth desire.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and O&M procedure writing techniques.
  • Ability to plan, meet deadlines, compile, and analyze data.
  • Bilingual and Biliterate – English and Spanish, preferred.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Engineering and 5 years of experience on electrical distribution systems.
  • Must be able to read and understand PFD’s, P&ID’s, blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Basic Excell a must), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regular attendance is required during normal working hours.
  • Must be able to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, dusty, and foggy working conditions depending on weather.
  • Must be able to work in all positions (overhead, kneeling, reaching, crawling & working in small workspaces) & be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
