Assist the Benefits Department with the day-to-day administrative functions of group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, voluntary UNUM products and 401(K) plans). Provide support for benefit administration, provide analytical and systems support and improve existing processes of billing and systems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate's degree with a major in Human Resources, Benefits, or othe related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Benefits Administration.
Certification Requirements: None required.
ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
No unusual physical requirements. Physical requirements are consistent with benefits positions, including mostly sitting with some standing/walking required. Other light physical activity like using stairs or occasionally moving items weighing less than 15lbs may be required as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Some travel to other locations is required.
Most work is performed in a comfortable, indoor, office-like facility. Some work is performed in an indoor, manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required, including hard hat, hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe boots, coats and other necessary equipment. Very little work is performed outside of the manufacturing facility.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Benefits Manager with daily benefit processing (COBRA, enrollments, terminations, beneficiaries, accident and death claims, QDRO’s, QMCSO’s, 401(K) action items and compliance testing).
- Gather required system data and oversee the processing of monthly/weekly billings and payment of administrative fees (Health, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability, ASO Plan, Prescription, etc.).
- Assist in the development and maintenance of benefit forms.
- Assist with plan audits and obtain system or file information as needed for audit support.
- Provide HRIS training to the employees of the company when needed.
- Assist with development of educational material to enhance understanding of the company’s benefit package/offerings.
- Distribute materials for benefit orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions.
- Manage eligible and not enrolled employees with plant notification.
- Support the Benefits Department with the Open Enrollment process.
- Enter Wingate Enrollments in HRIS and vendor websites.
- Review, document and manage Evidence of Insurability (EOI) Life and Disability enrollment changes.
- Document and validate spousal and dependent enrollments/eligibility to health plan(s).
- Organize and maintain employee benefit files.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations.
- Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies.
- Follow Sugar Creek Packing Co. safety rules and procedures.
