Job Summary

We are seeking Art Models to work on occasion for classes and workshops at our Art School in Sugar Land, TX. In this role, you would be modeling for artists to draw, paint, or sculpt. The purpose is to serve as a classroom model to provide artists with experience learning about human proportions, facial features, body alignments, and anatomy. This work is performed during regular classroom hours and in a safe classroom setting.

Note: We are looking for "clothed" and "nude" models. Any applicants should clearly state their preferences: clothed, nude, both. Models will never be asked to participate in any session that makes them uncomfortable.

Responsibilities

Here are some skills that will be helpful for you to be successful...

• Must be comfortable holding poses or facial expressions to allow artists to capture the lines and contours of their face/physique.
• Must be comfortable changing poses, facial expressions, or gestures to display the look the artist wants.
• Typical sessions are 3 hrs in duration, but always broken into multiple 20-minute segments with breaks in between. The key is to sit still without moving or talking so the artists can paint what they see.
• Confidence is important since you will be posing in front of a group of artists that will be staring at you intently as they attempt to capture your likeness.

Note:

• Previous modeling experience is helpful but not mandatory
• We welcome newcomers. We are happy to provide assistance to any first-timers.
• We look for variety in our models, including age, gender, body type, skin tone, hair color, etc. We are really looking for interesting people with positive attitudes.
• Models must be over 21 years old for any nude sessions.

We want to create a fun environment for our models and artists as well.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 6 per week
