Operations Manager - Retail

Our Beecher’s Handmade Cheese, Retail team, is seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to lead and uphold a culture of operational excellence across our Beecher’s retail locations. This role is pivotal in driving consistent execution, improving customer satisfaction, ensuring quality, fostering team development, and boosting profitability.
The ideal candidate is an inspiring leader, teacher, and coach with a passion for developing people and systems. This individual will provide strategic leadership, support cross-functional initiatives, and ensure all stores consistently meet and exceed operational standards.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular store visits to evaluate performance and enforce brand standards.
• Identify underperforming areas, develop improvement plans, and communicate milestones and timelines.
• Collaborate with store leadership to set and achieve quarterly performance goals.
• Analyze financial performance and coach managers to deliver against budget targets.
• Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints, including online reviews.
• Oversee inventory systems, including ordering processes and par level maintenance.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training efforts to ensure strong team development and high retention.
• Provide continuous performance feedback and support professional development for store managers.
• Champion succession planning through structured development programs and internal promotions.
• Monitor and enforce all food safety standards and programs.
• Efficiently manage multiple projects and tasks, consistently meeting deadlines.
• Step in to support store leadership during transitional periods, as needed.
• Lead or support special projects in collaboration with Restaurant and Retail leadership.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of multi-unit management experience, including full P&L accountability.
• At least 2 years of General Manager or Store Manager experience with full P&L responsibility.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills with a proven ability to develop and retain high-performing teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).

Compensation:
The starting salary range for this position is between $90,000 - $110,000 per year, plus an annual bonus plan. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
