Job Summary
The Director of Events is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of all events hosted by Sugar Plum Parties. This role requires a confident dynamic leader with a magnetic personality. The Director must have a strong background in events management and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. This candidate must thread the needle between creating a whimsical and fun atmosphere while effectively delegating tasks and communicating respectfully at all times.
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for working with children and have excellent organizational and communication skills. The Director must have a keen eye for detail, be energetic, engaging and captivating, quick-thinking and have the ability to multitask in a fast paced work environment. The Director of Events will ensure that all events align with Sugar Plum's goals and objectives.
Duties
- Uphold Sugar Plum's brand as a 5-star all-inclusive party venue
- Manage all aspects of event execution from set up to clean-up
- Ensure that all events run on time and seamless
- Serves as the lead MC throughout the event and actively participates in all parties activities (e.g. singing, dancing, imaginative play, beauty makeovers, crafts, etc.)
- Manage Staff: scheduling, assignment of tasks, performance feedback and management
- Works with staff to refine and improve processes that support efficient operations (e.g. training on new activities, new content creation, etc.)
- Customer engagement and promotes business
- Coordinate vendor reservations and ensure seamless delivery
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and identify areas for improvement in future events
Requirements
- Proven experience in events management, experience hosting children's parties preferred.
- Proven high-quality customer service experience
- Strong leadership skills and on-stage presence
- Strong work ethic and reliable
- Has managed a team
- Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Adaptable. Able to think on your feet and change course in the moment without being frazzled
- Uses good judgement and excellent problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on guest services and relationship building.
- Ability to work weekends, required
- A passion for creating memorable experiences that resonate with all guests
Experience in early education, party planning and/or entertainment a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
