What are the responsibilities and job description for the Doughnut Maker position at Sugar Twist Bakery?
We are looking for a Doughnut Maker to prepare different types of donuts. Baker responsibilities include, mixing and proofing dough, frying donuts, preparing fillings, glazing donuts, cleaning your work station. To be successful in this role, you should have work experience in a commercial kitchen. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis. If you come willing to learn how to bake donuts, we will train you for success! Must be great with time management and independent work!

Responsibilities
- Clean kitchen equipment and tools before use
- Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
- Fry different donuts: raised donuts, cake donuts, specialty flavors
- Adjust fryer and proofer temperatures to ensure proper baking
- Decorate donuts with glazes, icings, fill donuts with different flavors
- Shape dough to prepare different types of donuts
- Prepare custom-made donuts based on customers’ preferences (e.g. birthday donuts, custom orders)
- Recommend recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers (e.g. gluten-free or vegan desserts)
- Track food supplies and place orders, as needed
Skills
- Experience as a Donut Baker, Baker, Pastry Chef, Line Cook or similar role
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Experience with donut baking techniques
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- Work night shifts, early morning shifts, holidays, weekends
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs
