POSITION SUMMARY:
Sugarbush is looking for 2 trail crew members to assist with cutting and maintaining Sugarbush’s trail network. This position will also assist in other resort projects as required. Trail Crew Technician is a laborer who ideally loves the outdoors and will assist a Trail Crew Technician Lead in clearing brush as it's cut. Shifts are four 10-hour days, Monday- Thursday 6:30am-5pm. Opening is seasonal from May to end of October.
REQUIREMENTS:
Clear, mark, and maintain trails using hand and power tools (shovels, rakes, chainsaws, weed whackers, brush cutters) in compliance with Sugarbush Safety Policies.
Rake, fertilize, grass seed and mulch terrain when necessary.
Install and maintain drainage ditches & culverts on trails.
Build and maintain wooden structures as required.
Operate ATV safely & responsibly to and from work site.
Load and unload equipment and materials from vehicles and trailers.
Communicate with management and coworkers on project specifications and timelines.
Maintain tools and notify management of required repair.
May be required to train and work with specialized equipment and tools.
Assist in other resort projects.
Interaction with guests to provide service, solicit feedback, or enforce safety policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Must have experience with power tools such as chainsaws or brush cutters.
Must be able to lift above shoulder level, use hands for grasping and manipulating for long periods of time, and perform very heavy work involving exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and lesser weights more often.
Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions, i.e., rain, snow, wind, cold and/or heat.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must be able to stand on uneven ground, move quickly and efficiently to different worksites on foot or equipment including snowmobiles and ATVs., and climb stairs and/or ladders
Must be able to communicate effectively on the telephone, 2-way radios, and in person.
Must have excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
Must have exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
