Job Description and Responsibilities
- Check In/Check Out
- Greet patients upon arrival
- Obtain and update patient demographics
- Collect co-payments
- Check patients out and make follow up appointments as indicated
- Insurance
- Verify patient insurance benefits
- Assist patient in understanding their insurance explanation of benefits (EOB) and collect patient responsibility
- Document Management
- Scan and file pertinent patient information into EMR
- Submit referrals to subspecialists with pertinent clinical information
- Authorize insurance referrals when required by insurance
- Process medical records requests and releases
- Phone triage
- Answer patient phone calls and address patient inquiries
- Schedule/reschedule appointments
- Verify appointment and follow up on cancelled and no-show appointments
Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of a certificate program in the medical field (preferred)
- 1 years of experience working as an administrative assistant or in a relevant role
- Knowledge of medication names and indications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and diseases
- Recognize and triage an emergency
- Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Record)
Working Hours and Benefits
Schedule:
- Position is Full Time 5 days per week, Monday - Friday
- Service Location: Suwanee (must reside in a close vicinity of the office)
