What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tuning Room Technician position at Sugarloaf?
Sugarloaf is currently seeking winter sports enthusiasts with experience in and knowledge of ski and/or snowboard equipment to join our team as Tuning Room Technicians for the coming 2024 -2025 winter season.
A Ski/Snowboard Tuning Room Tech is responsible for working directly with guests and retail department staff to fit, service, and maintain snowboarding and alpine skiing equipment including, but not limited to binding mounting and adjustments, equipment repair, tuning, and waxing.

Responsibilities:
- Greeting customers as they enter the ski shop, and provide them with information on available skiing and snowboarding equipment and supplies
- Assisting customers with equipment and fitting hardware, ensuring they are made aware of the use and care of each item
- Providing customers with support in selecting the appropriate items, and ensuring they are properly adjusted
- Educating customers about safety precautions required during skiing and snowboarding activities
- Tuning, repairing, and storing equipment and supplies according to vendor or manufacturers instructions
- Confirming that the function of each item communicated to the customer and provide answers to any additional queries
- Responding to customers in a positive manner, especially when they are relating a problem or issues and attempt to resolve it on immediate basis
- Completing required documentation for each rental and sale, ensuring that receipts and change are in order
- Overseeing the repair, cleaning and maintenance of rented/new/used equipment, both in a preventative and regular capacity
- Making sure the service shop is operating properly and that any need for maintenance communicated to the supervisor
- Completing any other tasks that may be assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You have achieved a high school diploma or degree equivalent
- You are available to work weekends and holidays
- You have 2 years of ski/snowboard tuning and binding mounting/adjusting experience
- You are interested in a customer service based position that involves customer interaction
- You are able to communicate effectively, work well with a team and are detail oriented
