Reports to CFO
Position Summary
The “Accountant” position will be the lead for the monthly financial close and all associated reporting. The successful applicant will have a continuous improvement mindset for an expanding accounting department. Attention to detail and compliance is paramount.
Essential Job Functions
- Enter the month end general journal entries into financial system.
- Review and prepare month end financial statements.
- Reconcile bank statements and accounts, as needed.
- Review and create bank transactions.
- Review and enter daily bank transactions, as needed.
- Review, test, and improve internal controls.
- Work with facility staff as it relates to inventory control and cycle counting.
- Assist with sales analysis as required.
- Assist with costing analysis as required.
- Assist accounting staff with customer deductions and ensure proper support is obtained and align with customer contracts.
- Compile and issue weekly and monthly reporting.
- Review and approve customer credit applications and terms.
- Review and submit vendor credit applications and terms.
- Perform follow-ups with Federal and State agencies, as requested.
- Review, update, and create financial policies for the department and company.
- Act as the backup for AP/AR Specialist position.
- Assist with annual budget.
- Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and follow GMP’s, Food safety, HACCP, and FDA requirements.
- Compliance with SOV’s Safety, Food Safety, Quality systems, SOP’s, GMP’s and policies.
- Provide coverage to support team members.
- Ability to work cross functionally to achieve company goals.
- Other activities as assigned.
Requirements
- Accounting Systems Knowledge: QuickBooks Online preferred
- Knowledge about automated, or semi-automated, inventory systems.
- Education: Associate’s degree in accounting or related field, comparable work experience, or a mix. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Environmental factors and physical requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift (30 -50 lbs.), walk, bend, stretch, stand, reach, talk and hear during the entire shift, occasionally kneel, squat, stoop, twist and reach overhead with repetitive motions.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
